Daniel Burkard studied law and economics at the University of St. Gallen and the EM Lyon Business School (Erasmus). After graduating from university, he worked as a law clerk at the district court of Horgen and obtained his bar admission in 2016 (all courts in Switzerland). Before joining TIMES Attorneys in 2023, Daniel Burkard worked as an attorney-at-law in a Zurich based law firm and wrote his dissertation on the likelihood of confusion in trademark law and company-name law at the University of Neuchâtel.

Daniel Burkard’s legal practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law (trademarks, patents, copyright, and designs) as well as unfair competition law, including related litigation and arbitration, contracts, transactions, and the worldwide filing of trademarks and designs. Other areas of his practice include contract law, real estate and construction law, IT law, and data protection law.

Besides working as an attorney-at-law, Daniel Burkard is also involved in the field of academics. He researches and publishes articles in his area of expertise and is a guest lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU).

Daniel Burkard is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association.
