Olivier’s practice focuses on drafting and negotiating commercial and sport related agreements. He regularly represents clients in sport disputes before Sport tribunals (CAS, BAT, FIFA chambers) and advises sport federations, clubs, players, sponsors and partners on sponsorship, media rights, and product licence agreements, as well as labour agreements, and sale-purchase agreements. He also assists clients on regulatory, compliance and corporate issues related to sports.
Olivier Ducrey is a member of the Board of the Swiss Sports Law Association (ASDS) since 2008. He acts as single judge for the Basketball Champions League and FIBA, chairs the World Taewondo Hearing Panel as well as the Anti-doping Wushu panel. He is also member of the panels of the International Tennis Federation, International Tennis Table Federation and World Softball Baseball Confederation.
Olivier was seconded with UEFA during 4 months in 2008 in relation with EURO 2008 and during 5 months in 2009 for contractual disputes. He has assisted UEFA in connection with the organisation of the UEFA European Championships 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.
Olivier is well at ease with the practical implementation of new business opportunities and facilitates development of start-up project in sport or other industry by using is legal skills to realising ideas.
Olivier is also active on real estate transactions: sale and purchase, residential and commercial lease, development, commercialization, and advising on the realization of stadium and multifunctional sport arenas as well hotel and restaurant industry. He represents private individuals, hotel operator, Swiss and foreign development companies, as well as international companies active on the real estate market in Switzerland.
Olivier has been ranked among the best Sport lawyers in Switzerland 2019, 2020 and 2021 by Chambers and is ranked as Leading Individuals by Legal 500.
On a personal level, Olivier is a sport passionate, having played tennis at a competitive level.
