Stephan Netzle elected vice-chair of the Independent Regulators Group of European telecom regulators for 2019

Stephan Netzle, who is the president of the ComCom (i.e. the Swiss telecom regulatory body) has been elected vice-chair of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG) of European telecom regulators for 2019 and is representing the non-EU countries in BEREC (Board of European Regulators for Electronic Communication). The regulatory support of the roll out of the new 5G mobile technology and the further improvement of the coverage and quality of the broadband networks are two agenda points of IRG and BEREC with top priority.

In particular his vast experience and expertise in the legal aspects of cognitive computing and other cutting-edge technologies related to digitalization, virtualization and automation have made him a highly recognized IT lawyer in Europe and overseas. Recent speaking engagements as Digital Lawyer & Counsel (DLC)® have brought Alesch Staehelin to major cities around the world. Prior to joining IBM, he worked 8 years as an IP/IT lawyer at leading Swiss law firms.
