Markus Kaiser graduated from the University of St. Gallen in 2001 and was admitted to the bar in 2003. In 2005, he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge (LL.M.).
Before becoming a founding Partner of TIMES Attorneys, Markus Kaiser was a member of the IP/IT practice groups of two leading law firms in Switzerland (Homburger AG and CMS von Erlach Poncet AG). In his role as Inhouse Counsel for Swissperform – the Swiss society for related rights of artists, producers and broadcasters – he gained additional experience in the arts and entertainment sector.
Markus Kaiser’s practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law, including related litigation and arbitration, contracts and transactions. He regularly represents clients in licensing, brand protection and copyright matters (civil, criminal and customs proceedings) and advises clients in technology transfer matters as well as in the worldwide registration and prosecution of trademarks. As another strong focus of his practice he has profound experience in data protection matters.
Markus Kaiser lectures licensing law at the LL.M. programme of the University of Zurich. He teaches Social Media Law at the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration in Zurich (HWZ) and IT law at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen. He is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association, and of INGRES, INTA, AIPPI and ITechLaw.
